You know the drill, I have old parts, I clean, prime, and eventually paint them.

Kinja'd!!!

I wish I had kept track of how many cans of primer I’ve emptied

Thank you to the like three of you who still read my posts. Yes, I’m getting tired of cleaning up parts too, but I’m getting down there - only a handful left to go. Hopefully I’ll have actually-interesting content to post again soon with spring rolling in and the RX7 coming out of storage soon. We’ll see. My wallet is ready for this to be done, too.

I’m really enjoying that the weather has been warm enough a few days this week to leave the doors open for a while! It was getting pretty stale in there after working on this all winter.

The spring leaf blower shop cleaning is in order for sure. Unfortunately there is a winter storm warning till tomorrow night posted again. It was 70 degrees on Sunday. Now this. Oh well, the  generator is full of fuel.

The one on the right is the hood catch/latch assembly. The little bit sticking up goes out to the lip of the bumper, pulling it rotates the big slotted arm, which releases the hood catch. On the right edge of that is the horn, which I didn’t unbolt from this for some reason I do not know.

The part on the left is the brace for the latch. The top stepped part goes under the top plate of the latch assembly, and the small part at the bottom of the J bolts to the core support. It also has a flange on the leading edge to which the center of the grille bolts (can kind of see their shadow on the left).
